On an unrelated note, sorry for the late post! Did I totally set the update to be released at the wrong time? Maybe. Maybe. But in my defense, it's been a while since we've updated last.

It's been a long road for Issue 9. We were hoping to release this earlier, but encountered a few delays momstly due to personal life changes and a lot of travel. We unfortunately weren't able to make our goal of two issues a year, but I hope you're all ok with this update right at the apex of spooky month. 

As always, Folklore is our labor of love. We're slow, but we're steady, and we've already started working on Issue 10. Please enjoy the ride, and thanks for sticking with us through 2025 (and all the years before!)

Hey there friends,  it's been a while!

Life has been chaotic over the past year, but progress on Folklore does continue! Colin and I have been working hard to get back onto a regular schedule, and for those of you who have missed our updates on Patreon and Bluesky you've probably been wondering where things are standing!

Now that we're a little further along into Issue 9's development, we're ready to start showing a spoiler or two here.

Thank you for being so patient with us! As independent creators, we're often stretched and forced to spend our time in ways not associated with the stories we love most. 2025 could use more art, and we know that even a dark story like Folklore has its own ways of delivering some joy and hope into the world.

Things look a little different now.

With this new revelation, Issue 8 has come to a close. We hope you've enjoyed the ride! It's been a complicated year for us, but we were glad to finally get this one out the door. 2022 brought a lot of major life changes. We took some time to mourn, some time to celebrate, and some time for ourselves. Colin and I are better for it as a result. The cost was, unfortunately, a delay in Folklore's production.

We've already begun discussing Issue 9. The script is done, which means it's onto the art phase...but it may be a short wait while we continue to settle some new and exciting changes to our respective lives. Our commitment is to make sure this story is something we're proud of. We hope you're ok with a bit of a wait. We truly hope you find each chapter to this story to be a worthwhile experience.

Sorry about the post delay! Technical difficulities, but we're almost at the end!

Greg is either easily distracted or has an excellent eye for detail. We'll have to see which it is in next week's update.

Does it count as friendly fire if your ally is being used as a human shield? Also, mad props to Colin for figuring out some extremely fun FX across this fight!

A sprained ankle is no joke, but he sure does show a lot of confidence in Christa by not even trying to stand up.
