What can a crossbow do that a bullet can't? Pretty cool power up sound effects, for starters.

The odds are high that this crossbow was custom built by a local to be able to give someone a bit of last ditch breathing room from Quietus' approach -- but I also like to think that the Federation has all kinds of tools like this sitting around. Weird weapons for every occasion, because it's always better to be prepared.
